The 2014 Jeep Cherokee’s design combined with a well-respected name should bode well for Chrysler Group LLC, according to analysts.

With an aggressive, yet smooth exterior, officials say the new Cherokee, which replaces the Liberty in the U.S., could lead the compact utility vehicle segment in a new direction.

“I think you’re going to see a lot of people interested in it,” said Jesse Toprak, TrueCar.com senior analyst. “It’s got a good buzz and it’s just starting to build.

Toprak said based on the brand’s previous performance in the segment and the new design, the 2014 Cherokee “should definitely result in a great year for the Cherokee this year.”
