Convertibles have been part of the Corvette's appeal since 1953, and the all-new 2014 Stingray is no exception. At a worldwide introduction at the Geneva Motor Show today, Chevrolet took the wraps off the latest Corvette convertible.

Competing with several exotic sports car reveals from Ferrari, Lamborghini and McLaren, the 2014 Corvette convertible took its share of the limelight and emphasized its global aspirations with a launch at the first major auto show of the European season.

The highlight of the new Corvette is an electrically powered, fabric folding top that can be operated remotely by the key fob. The top can be opened or closed while the car is moving at speeds up to 30 mph.

"With the all-new Corvette Stingray, we designed and developed the coupe and convertible simultaneously," said Ed Welburn, GM vice president of global design. "As a result, the Corvette Stingray offers an open-top driving experience with no compromise in performance, technology or design."
