TOLEDO, Ohio - Chrysler Group LLC is steadily increasing production of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee at its Toledo Assembly Complex, according to officials.

Zachary Leroux, manager of the facility, said when a second shift of about 1,100 workers comes fully online by the end of September, the 3.9 million square-foot facility will capable of producing 896 Cherokees a day, or about 50 vehicles per hour, during two nine-hour shifts.

“We’re expecting this vehicle to sell,” he said Thursday during a media event at the plant. “I think that’s going to keep us busy for a long period of time.”
