Chrysler Group LLC's sales chief said Thursday he is predicting March will be the 36th straight month of year-over-year sales gains for the Auburn Hills automaker.

Reid Bigland, head of U.S. sales for the company and president and CEO of its Dodge brand, said he expects Chrysler group sales will be up again in March over the same month the year before and the Dodge brand will post double digit growth.

"March is going to be a squeaker, but I think we'll be up from a sales perspective," he told reporters following the reveal of the refreshed Dodge Durango at the New York International Auto Show.

Automakers will release March U.S. sales results on Tuesday.
