For the real truck lovers, it's the towing that matters.

Thanks to a new diesel engine and a more rigid steel frame, Chrysler is confident its Ram 3500 heavy-duty pickup can pull up to 30,000 pounds, or 6,900 more than its nearest competitor.

It also is an increase of more than 7,000 pounds from the 2012 Ram 3500.

"We built the new 2013 Ram Heavy Duty to be the undisputed heavy duty 'King of the Road,' " Fred Diaz, CEO of the Ram brand, said in a statement. "These new rigs deliver on the No. 1 key attribute most critical to these customers."
