Ford to meet supplier goal

On a day to honor veterans, Ford says it is on track to meet its 2012 goal to allocate 10% of its supplier spending to veteran and minority-owned companies.

Ford wants to source at least 3% of its annual purchasing budget from veteran-owned suppliers.

Ford notes that Michigan has the highest rate of unemployed veterans (20%) in the nation. It has asked its tier one suppliers to make the same pledge.
