Washington General Motors Co. is sponsoring a two-month cross-country tour on the importance of free enterprise in the U.S. economy.

The Detroit automaker is the official vehicle sponsor for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s “On the Road with Free Enterprise” tour, a two-month cross-country road trip “to tell the story of free enterprise and what it means to the American economy.”

GM will provide a 2013 Chevy Traverse for two “Tour Guides” to travel to more than 15 cities across the United States, visiting with small businesses, participating in local events and stopping at famous landmarks.

“GM, a great American company and employer, is committed to the same principles we will celebrate with the ‘On the Road with Free Enterprise’ tour,” said Tom Collamore, senior vice president of communications and strategy at the Chamber. “We can think of no better vehicle partner for this exploration of American free enterprise and the people and businesses working to create jobs and help grow the economy.”
