A pair of continuing-education programs will bring hundreds more students to Rock Valley College.

The college was just approved to provide trades training to the nearly 2,700 workers at Chrysler Group LLC’s assembly plant.

Chrysler routinely sends 300 to 400 workers a year to a community college in Detroit for cross-training on skills like welding, sheet metal fabricating and pneumatics.

Those workers will now receive the training through RVC, either at its Stenstrom Center or at the plant.
