Ford's truck marketing chief says it is a brand promise and he's going to keep it.

In the advertising world, a good tag line can last a year or more. Rarely can you milk more than 35 years out of it.

But Ford's truck line has managed to do it. "Built Ford Tough" is a phrase that still rings in the ears of diehard pickup fanciers.
