• GM investing $133M more in Wentzville

    Less than two years after General Motors announced a massive expansion of its assembly plant in Wentzville, the facility is getting an additional $133 million investment with a third stamping press system.

    The Detroit-based automaker said Wednesday it will start construction next month on a 114,000-square-foot stamping plant addition in Wentzville. Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans are produced at the existing 3.7 million-square-foot manufacturing facility. Since opening in 1983, the Wentzville plant has produced more than 2 million vans.

    The customs analyst at Chrysler Canada joined about 100 of her co-workers who volunteered their time and effort, painting, trimming and weeding eight park areas in Windsor’s west end.

    DETROIT- General Motors Co. will invest $133 million to add a third stamping press for production of its next-generation mid-size pickup trucks at its Wentzville Assembly and Stamping plant in Missouri.

    The Detroit-based automaker today said as part of the investment, which will create or retain approximately 55 jobs, will build and equip a 114,000-square-foot stamping plant addition to make manufacturing more flexible at the site. Construction will begin in July, and GM expects the press to be operational by early 2015.
